We know that raising a child with emotional and behavioral health concerns is like being in a marathon.
A marathon is a cross-country foot race that originated in ancient Greece and was a test of endurance. Parents also need the same thing as marathon runners...endurance, stamina, willpower, determination and support.
Today in a marathon, spectators offer water to runners along the way – it keeps the runners going and supports them. This is what G.E.A.R. Parent Network does for parents. We support them and help keep them going especially through contact with other parents who are going through the same things they are.
If you are a parent of a child with emotional/behavioral concerns, you are aware that there is much to learn and to manage on behalf of your child and your entire family. The G.E.A.R. Parent Network is here to help.
G.E.A.R. Parent Network is a parent-run organization by and for parents of children with emotional and behavioral health concerns.
G.E.A.R. provides an opportunity for parents to support each other and work together, family to family. We empower parents by helping them build on the identified strengths in their families and by providing safe and supportive avenues for emotional support and problem solving.
G.E.A.R. Parent Network believes in a family-driven system of care that helps children, youth and families function better at home, in school, in the community and throughout life.
We want you to know that you are not alone!
