2010 poster contest winner!

G.E.A.R. Parent Network, “The Place Where Gaining Empowerment Allows Results” needs youth ages 5-16 to help raise awareness for children’s mental health and reduce stigma by participating in the 2011 G.E.A.R. Parent Network Poster Contest. G.E.A.R. Parent Network is inviting all Maine youth between the ages of 5 and 16 to participate.

Submission Guidelines:

  • Must be a Maine resident between the ages of 5 and 16
  • The poster must be related to the contest theme in some way. 
  • All submissions must be the original work of the participant. Reprinted work will not be accepted
  • Entries must be no smaller than 8.5”x11” and no larger than 11”x17”
  • All participants must complete the attached release form giving the G.E.A.R. Parent Network and our collaborative partners, permission to use the artwork.  Submissions by individuals under the age of 18 must have signatures of both the child or youth and the parent/guardian on the form.
  • The Posters will be judged by a panel of families and youth
  • The back of the poster should include the name, date of birth and address of person submitting the piece. 


What you win!

  • The winning posters will be recognized at the 2011 “What Families and Youth Want” Conference, May 21, 2011.
  • Winners in 3 age groups, 0-5, 6-11, 12-16. Grand Prize winner will receive a $100 honorarium from G.E.A.R. Parent Network, 1st and 2nd runner ups will each receive a $25 honorarium
  • The Grand Prize winning poster will be used to promote Children’s Mental Health Awareness in
  • May 2011


How to enter the contest!

  • Create a poster expressing what “Growing Resilient Families and Children in Maine” means to you
  • Fill out the attached: Poster Contest Entry Release Form, and put entrant’s name, date of birth and address on the back of the poster.
  • Entries must be mailed flat, and should not be matted, mounted, laminated, framed or folded.
  • Must be received by March 1, 2011 to be eligible
  • Any items not accompanied by a completed Contest Entry Release form will be ineligible for judging.
